PSOUG / end-to-end Tracing

Hi,
I am a student of Oracle 10g New Features. I am using Oracle Applications R12 behind which Oracle 10g is working. Incase of end-to-end tracing when i log into my Oracle Applications R12 the column CLIENT_IDENTIFIER of v$session reamins null and shows no value. Therefore i can not trace the exact terminal from where the user is facing performance problem
