DATABASE GIANT Oracle's president has admitted to having an affair after large billboards announcing it were splashed all over the world.

The billboards show Charles E Phillips romantically attached to a woman who was not his wife. One of the billboards appeared in New York City on Times Square. The words "Charles & YaVaughnie" were posted along with "You are my soulmate forever!"

According to the New York Times, a red faced Phillips admitted he had been having an affair for the last eight and a half years. He said the woman on the billboards was his mistress, YaVaughnie Wilkins.

Phillip's divorce proceedings began in 2008 and the relationship with Wilkins has since ended. He said that both he and Wilkins "wish each other well."

The billboard also listed a URL for a website with a catalogue of hundreds of photos of the couple dating back to 2001. Many thought Phillips was bragging about his new girlfriend or about to get married again.

There was no word on who might have put up the billboards or what their motivation was.
