President’s Corner

2009 OAUG President Ray Payne

COLLABORATE 09: Technology and Applications Forum for the Oracle Community was, once again, a big success, bringing attendees an intensive and relevant learning experience. I was very pleased to hear from many attendees that the education sessions, executive presentations, hands-on labs and conversations with peers were invaluable and sure to translate into immediate and positive contributions back on the job — so critical as demands continue to grow while resources dwindle.

I also heard that it was a challenge for conference attendees to choose from the many, many excellent sessions presented at COLLABORATE — too many choices, not enough time. But it’s not too late to catch a session that you may have missed or share your favorite session with a colleague. And, if you were unable to attend the conference, the OAUG is making it possible for COLLABORATE 09 to come to you. How?

    * New this year, we recorded 150 hours of content from the COLLABORATE 09 — OAUG Forum. These recordings will be available for purchase in the next few weeks. You will have the flexibility to select a single session or create a customized learning package.
    * In addition, hundreds of informative papers from the COLLABORATE 09 — OAUG Forum will soon be available, free to OAUG members. We anticipate that the papers will be available for download before the end of June.

Watch for announcements about the availability of the COLLABORATE 09 conference papers and audio recordings.

Providing relevant, high-quality educational opportunities and resources for members is one of the cornerstones of the OAUG’s mission. We hope you find the conference papers and recorded sessions useful additions to your learning and development tool kit.

Let us hear from you. What did you like about COLLABORATE 09? What can we do better? The conference survey is open through Friday, May 22. Please take 10 minutes to share your opinions, which are important to us as we plan for COLLABORATE 10 and beyond.

For more on the happenings and highlights at COLLABORATE 09, read on in this issue of OAUG eNews.
